Helping the Melkbosstrand Community Move Better, Recover Stronger, and Live Without Limits

At Melkbos Physiotherapy, we believe that movement is fundamental to living a healthy, active, and fulfilling life. Our mission is simple: to provide compassionate, evidence-based physiotherapy care that helps our patients overcome pain, recover from injury, and regain confidence in their bodies.

Located in the heart of Melkbosstrand, Cape Town, we proudly serve individuals and families from Melkbosstrand, Atlantic Beach Estate, Duynefontein, Van Riebeeckstrand, Big Bay, Bloubergstrand, and surrounding West Coast communities.

Whether you're recovering from surgery, managing a sports injury, dealing with persistent back or neck pain, or simply looking to move more freely, our team is dedicated to helping you achieve your goals through personalised physiotherapy care.

Our Approach to Physiotherapy

At Melkbos Physiotherapy, we understand that every person is different. There is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to rehabilitation and recovery.

That's why we take the time to:

  • Understand your symptoms and concerns

  • Identify the root cause of your pain or dysfunction

  • Perform comprehensive movement and physical assessments

  • Develop a personalised treatment plan tailored to your lifestyle and goals

  • Empower you with the knowledge and tools needed for long-term success

Our treatment approach combines hands-on physiotherapy techniques, exercise rehabilitation, education, and evidence-based clinical practice to help you recover effectively and prevent future injuries.

We don't just focus on relieving symptoms — we focus on helping you build resilience, improve movement, and maintain your health for years to come.

Kaitlyn Faulkner

I am a physiotherapist with a passion for helping people move better, feel better, and rebuild confidence in their bodies. I graduated in 2023 from Stellenbosch University and completed my community service year in Upington in 2024, where I gained valuable experience working with a wide range of patients and conditions.
My interests include hospital-based physiotherapy and sports-related injuries, and I particularly enjoy supporting patients as they work their way back to their normal routines — whether that involves returning to sport or simply moving through daily life with greater ease and comfort.

Outside of work, I have been horse riding since the age of 9 and still ride twice a week. I also enjoy staying active through running, CrossFit, and padel.

I live with my fiancé, and we are getting married in December this year. I bring the same energy and dedication from my active lifestyle into my clinical work, and I value building genuine connections with my patients while helping them achieve their goals.

Nicola Dreyer

Nicola is a passionate physiotherapist with a keen interest in sports physiotherapy and helping people return to the activities they love. She believes that physiotherapy is about more than treating injuries, it's about empowering people to move better, feel stronger, and improve their quality of life.

Outside of the clinic, Nicola leads an active lifestyle and has a particular passion for trail running. She loves spending time on the mountains, surrounded by nature, and values the mental clarity and sense of accomplishment that come from challenging herself on difficult trails. She also enjoys road running, regular games of padel with friends, and has recently developed a strong enthusiasm for golf.

An animal lover at heart, Nicola feels most at home outdoors and believes that movement, adventure, and connection with nature play an important role in overall wellbeing. Her caring approach, combined with her love of sport and exercise, allows her to connect with patients from all walks of life and support them in achieving their goals.

Whether helping someone recover from injury, return to sport, or simply move through life with greater confidence, Nicola is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of her patients.

Caryn Meyer

I am a dedicated physiotherapist with over 12 years of experience working in both hospital and outpatient clinical settings. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of helping people from all walks of life recover from injury, manage pain, and regain confidence in their movement.

I believe in treating every patient as a whole person, not just focusing on their injury or condition. Taking the time to understand each individual’s goals, lifestyle, and challenges allows me to provide personalised care that supports lasting recovery. Seeing my patients return to doing the things they love is the most rewarding part of my profession.

Outside of the practice, I enjoy embracing an active lifestyle. I love spending time outdoors, whether it’s hiking in nature or playing padel with friends and family. I also cherish quality time with my family and loved ones. I believe that staying active, connected, and balanced is an important part of overall wellbeing—something I strive to encourage in both my own life and in the care I provide to my patients.

Lionel Moolman . Anja Moolman

Moolman Physio was born from a friendship, a relationship,  a shared dream, and the kind of trust that only comes from riding bicycles together. Lionel and Anja met at University, and if they could survive that — starting a practice together was the natural next step. In 2017, they turned that dream into reality.

Since then, they have built more than a practice — they have built a family. Faith is at the heart of everything they do. They believe God placed them exactly where they are meant to be, serving people through the gift of healing and movement.

Their passion for sport is not just professional — it is personal. Lionel, a former amateur professional cyclist, and Anja have together competed in triathlons, MTB stage races, the Double Century, and the Cape Town Marathon (Lionel still owes us that marathon finish).

When they are not treating patients, you will find them swimming in the ocean, training for Robben Island crossings, out on their bicycles, or at CrossFit — where Lionel competes in the Masters category — all with their two kids alongside them.

That lived experience in sport gives them a deep, genuine understanding of what their patients go through. From prehab and strength and conditioning to the right referrals, they treat every person as a whole — not just an injury.

Their court-side and field-side hours speak for themselves. They have had the privilege of working at the Cape Epic alongside legends like George Hincapie, Christian Vande Velde, and Robyn de Groot, at the Grant Khomo and at Craven Week rugby events. Most recently, they are honoured to work with World Masters Hockey Olympians, like Lauren Penny.

At Moolman Physio, you are not just a patient. You are part of the family.
